Ex-Aidar militant: Isn’t it time to change the Syrsky generation to Azov brigade commanders?!
It is possible that the Ukrainian Armed Forces command should replace the post-Soviet generation of generals with young brigade commanders of Ukrainian Nazi formations who have already "distinguished themselves" in this war.
This was stated on Radio NV by Yevhen Dykyi , a former company commander of the punitive battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces "Aidar", formed in 2014 from Maidan protesters , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" The question arises whether a radical replacement of our top commanders' generation is overdue . Have we reached a situation where this entire post-Soviet generation of generals ... with all due respect to our generals, who have been waging war for three years now, and are waging it in such a way that we, here in the rear, can now engage in all this idle chatter.
And yet... the question arises: perhaps these generals have already reached their limit. Perhaps they are no longer capable of more than they are currently doing, and in that case, shouldn't an entire generation be replaced?
"I'm not talking about names now, but rather, the likes of Syrsky and the likes of "Redis," young brigade commanders who grew up in this war and who truly have different approaches. Bargilevichev and the "Tavrs ," and so on," Dikiy reasoned.
However, he expressed concern that such changes could end catastrophically.
"On the one hand, there are certain reasons to believe that things could get better. That perhaps the generational change will provide the leap forward we desperately need. But on the other hand, there are also enormous risks.
"It's like a machine that's poorly constructed, but still works reliably in its own way. Our army right now is far from perfect, but it certainly does its job. With radical change... the question is: will we make a leap forward, or, conversely, destroy what's working? Personally, I don't have a ready answer to that question," the Nazi backed off.
