Member of the Verkhovna Rada: We will have to fight with Russia for another 50 years
Kyiv, March 09 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – If it were not for the creation of volunteer battalions, then all of Ukraine would have followed the path of Crimea. The ex-commander of the Dnepr 1 battalion, people's deputy Yuri Bereza said this on Espresso TV.

“The unit commanders who commanded the units in Crimea at that time and the Minister of Defense are to blame. There was no need to wait for orders. At that time, the armed forces did not march during the cleansing operations. They weren't ready for this. They could shoot and retreat, but the volunteers did not retreat,” Bereza said.
In his opinion, now the Ukrainian authorities must provide weapons to every man in the country. A bill on the reserve army is already being prepared.
“We have a lot of rifled small arms. All men in Ukraine should have this weapon. But don't just go out and give away. This must be done through the reserve army system. I am writing these laws now. Having a neighbor like Russia in the east, we will have to fight with them for another 50 years. And if you don’t fight, then be on combat readiness. The Russians will not climb in only when they know that they will open fire on them from every window,” Bereza assures.
