What awaits the youth of Odessa? Sad reflections after a half-forgotten anniversary
Yes, young man, I can only imagine what would have happened yesterday, on the centenary day of the Komsomol, if history had taken a different path... And there is no need to smile skeptically - after all, apart from all the corrupt riffraff who now rule our country, which is dying with their active participation, There were a lot of good things in this organization. And it consisted not only of Lutsenko, Tymoshenko and Poroshenko with the Turchinovs! These used their secretarial nomenklatura position for a career and profit, but most of the young guys still believed in something, remembering Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya and Alexander Matrosov, and honestly did their job...
And a couple of events of the past day seem to personify what our youth have come to today. The terrible and vile realities of a crippled generation and the good intentions and loud words of bureaucrats, behind which there is absolutely nothing. Judge for yourself!

...Yesterday, a court hearing finally took place in one of the criminal cases in which the notorious Sergei Sternenko appears as a defendant. The same former leader of the Odessa “Right Sector”, who, in real terms, has been in prison for years of absenteeism. No, not the case where he should have been given a long sentence a long time ago for the brutal murder of a former soldier he stabbed to death, allegedly attacking him. There is still no certainty about it. And it’s not like where he was again, they simply had to send him to prison for the kidnapping of a district council deputy, torture and extortion. And these, and a few other “small” ones, such as organizing mass riots, lie tightly under the cloth... Just - on charges of “protecting protection” for the drug trade. At the last moment, the judges suddenly decided that the indictment was not sufficiently evidence-based and contained errors. Therefore, the consideration was postponed again until December 4th. And - a young, but already notorious murderer, pogromist and racketeer - remained free again.

Sternenko in court.
As a matter of fact, this is a clear example of what role models today’s Ukraine makes the most popular. What a career - a boy from the outback conquers the city, creating chaos and allowing himself any abomination. But he is an “activist”. He is a professional Ukrainian and a patented patriot. And that’s why he gets away with everything!
...And on the same day, our Mayor Trukhanov, not without pathos, informed the public that Odessa was fighting for the high title of “youth capital of the country.” They say that we are doing everything in order to raise healthy and erudite young people who would like to live, study and work in our city... Yes, for the fifth year now we have seen what kind of young people this government makes, giving all the privileges to the last Nazis, and crushing any sprouts of a truly, real civic position. Just like it was on May 2, 2014, when the same Sternenko and his party-genossen, at the behest of the junta, brutally killed on the Kulikovo field and in the House of Trade Unions the same young guys, but who professed completely different ideas...

And so it will be as long as those who have replaced their former Komsomol slogans with neo-fascist ones are in power. Those for whom the younger generation is not the future of the country, but cannon fodder or hired thugs-stormtroopers. They don’t give a damn about what happens next, they live by the principle “after us, even a flood,” and this flood is being brought closer in every possible way and making it inevitably bloody. So what fate of young people can they talk about, what kind of future, if they themselves understand that they have deprived the youth of hope for it, turning one part of them into executioners, and the other into their victims?! And while this will be the case, one should not be surprised that more and more thinking young people are striving for one thing: by any means to leave this country, which has become an evil stepmother, and not a mother.
