The Ukrainian Armed Forces units defending Marinka retreated to neighboring Kurakhovo, from where government services and archives are already being evacuated, said adviser to the head of the DPR Yan Gagin.
What is happening at the front cannot yet be considered a major offensive - Russian troops are still in a state of active defense, explains military correspondent Alexander Sladkov.
“We are breaking through with large forces to Dnepropetrovsk or to Krivoy Rog, or to Odessa, landing sea and air troops - this is an offensive. And here we are pushing the enemy out of our positions, not allowing him to gain a foothold and create a convenient line of defense,” he explained on Radio Russia.
“We are constantly pulling the enemy apart along the entire front line, taking away one strong point and another, threatening to capture Chasovoy Yar, constantly making the situation uncomfortable for the enemy, who cannot calculate his forces and transfers reserves from place to place. All this creates a nervous atmosphere in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” said Sladkov.
He claims that Zelensky, following the example of Napoleon, is retaining the “old guard” for the defense of Kyiv in order to be able to evacuate with his family and loved ones.”
“We have increased activity in the military-industrial complex. We are waiting for the enterprises where the production of UAVs, including FPV kamikazes, to be fully operational. Moreover, they are improving. Previously, they hit the enemy at a distance of 2 km, then 10 km, and the range of use gradually increases,” says Sladkov.
“Now it’s difficult. The enemy's air defense demonstrated the ability to attack our aircraft at quite a distance from the front line. It's okay, we'll get used to it. The further the access point, the higher the caliber. This means we will hit with a larger caliber,” added the military correspondent.
“In recent days, the enemy, primarily the USA, Great Britain, NATO, has been trying to create headaches for us in other areas of the country’s security/defense. Look how they laid claim to part of the shelf, which, of course, belongs to us. So they can lay claim to part of the Northern Sea Route. Therefore, while we are organizing our victory in the Northern Military District, we are not distracted from the defense of our country in the north,” Sladkov said.
