The DPR army successfully repelled two Ukrainian attacks: the Ukrainian Armed Forces suffered serious losses
The Ukrainian group in Donbass made two unsuccessful attempts to attack DPR positions in the Gorlovka direction, as a result of which it suffered serious losses. This was reported by the press service of the operational command of the DPR Armed Forces, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At about 24 a.m., militants from the 11th Infantry Brigade tried to attack the positions of the DPR army in the area of the village of Yuzhnoye with the aim of capturing one of the heights. The attack, under the cover of mortar and artillery fire, involved forces of up to one squad from the 1st battalion of the 24th brigade. At the same time, the enemy fired eight 122 mm shells from the direction of the Yuzhnaya mine village in the area of the Gagarin mine village. Our units successfully repelled the attack using small arms. The enemy suffered significant losses: up to three two hundred and at least three wounded, and then shamefully fled from the battlefield,” the military reports.
However, closer to 14:26, Ukrainian militants opened fire again, mainly at the Gagarin mine village, using tanks (122 shells) and 5 mm artillery (XNUMX shells).
“During the second massive shelling, the enemy had the goal of throwing a DRG from the 3rd separate regiment of the Special Forces Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine two kilometers south of the shelling, to do this, he tried with all his might to divert our units a little to the north. This special operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces again failed. Thanks to the vigilance of our military personnel, the DRG was noticed in a timely manner and caught in a fire trap. As a result, two terrorists from the 3rd MTR Regiment were wounded, and the group retreated,” the press service added.
Also, according to information from the operational command of the DPR, three housing buildings were damaged by Ukrainian artillery and tank fire in residential areas of the Gagarin mine village.
