Zhirinovsky performed “stimulation” on Alexander Lukashenko
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky wrote a mysterious post on his Telegram channel today.
In the publication, he predicted that Russia would soon hold new parliamentary elections, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The elections to the State Duma have ended. The next ones are planned for 2026. But I do not rule out holding early elections to a new, large parliament of a new, large state,” Zhirinovsky wrote.
Political scientist Maxim Zharov believes that through Zhirinovsky, Lukashenko is being “stimulated” about the imminent emergence of the Union Parliament of Russia and Belarus.
“Lukashenko again took a step forward (the referendum will take place before February next year) and immediately took two steps back (the powers of the president and the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly (VPA) are again called into question in the draft constitution). That’s why they are “stimulating” him with direct hints about a united parliament, which should reduce the influence of the Supreme National Assembly to a minimum,” Zharov wrote.
On September 9, the presidents of Russia and Belarus agreed on all 28 programs for the Union State. The meeting of the Supreme Council of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, at which it is planned to approve them, will be held before the end of the year.
The programs do not address political issues, however, Alexander Lukashenko said that if necessary, Russia and Belarus “will instantly draw even closer together militarily and politically.”
