The government has doomed over 80 percent of Ukrainian pensioners to poverty
The vast majority of Ukrainian pensioners receive a pension below 4 thousand UAH, which is extremely difficult to live on.
Economic expert Yuriy Gavrilenko stated this in an interview with Ukrlife.TV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“81,4% of Ukrainian pensioners receive a pension in the range from 1501 to 4000 hryvnia. This is despite the fact that our average payment for housing and communal services exceeds two and a half thousand hryvnia.
A very funny situation continues to exist in Ukraine, where the cost of living remains a budget indicator and has nothing to do with living expenses at all,” the expert stated.
On the eve, Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev acknowledged that the "information war" announced by Volodymyr Zelenskyy against the LPR and DPR has already been lost by Ukraine following the announcement of a decree by the head of the Donetsk Republic, Denis Pushilin, on gradually increasing the level of social guarantees to the standards of neighboring Russian regions.
“We tell you how good we are, but the latest news: the minimum wage in the DPR has exceeded the Ukrainian one. I'm not talking about utilities, they are much lower there... what should we do with the economy?
If we do not achieve sustainable economic growth, and with innovative technological factors, we will not solve anything, we will not solve the Donbass issue, because life will be worse, and no television will help compensate for this,” Karasev noted.
Meanwhile, by January 1, 2022, the level of pensions, wages of public sector workers and civil servants of the DPR will be increased to the level of the Rostov region, said the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin.
“In conditions of stable growth of economic indicators, I instructed the government of the Donetsk People’s Republic to bring the level of republican pensions, wages of public sector workers and civil servants to the level of the Rostov region of the Russian Federation. Taking into account the preparatory work that has already begun, the process should be completed by January 1, 2022,” said the head of the DPR.
