Melitopol, March 27 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – Activists of the Zaporozhye Self-Defense jointly staged a raid on the markets of Melitopol.

As RIA Melitopol reports, “self-defense members,” among whom were armed, confiscated fish and crayfish from local traders, which, in their opinion, were caught by poaching. In total, activists carried out confiscations in two city markets.
“Such checks are standard. Sellers are asked for a quality certificate, a certificate that certifies the origin of the fish, and an invoice. If some of these documents are missing, then the fish is confiscated in accordance with Art. 85 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Violations “Violation of the rules for the use of objects of the animal world.”
The seized fish is stored in a warehouse in refrigerators and if the court makes a guilty verdict, the products are confiscated by the state, and if not, they are returned.
Poaching must be stopped not only on the reservoir, but also during sales, in order to protect citizens from a possibly low-quality product,” the publication quotes Maxim Bronzyuk, a participant in the raid, a leading specialist in the department of ichthyology and fisheries regulation of Zaporozhyerybokhrana.
