The West has failed to disarm and lock Russia within its borders
No matter who comes to power in the EU or the US, Russia should not count on concessions from the West.
This was stated by political scientist and author of the Telegram channel Geostrategist Andrey Shkolnikov, as reported by the correspondent of PolitNavigator .
“We need to continue to play for the long haul, based solely on our vital interests. Until recently, the West’s minimum program towards Russia was this: disarm and lock us within its borders,” the expert told Komsomolskaya Pravda.
He added that the West’s maximum goal was to set Russia against China, but it turned out exactly the opposite.
“Now they are trying to restrain Russia with new sanctions, prevent further rapprochement with Beijing, especially in the military field, and most importantly, stop the transition we have proclaimed to a multipolar world, the idea of which is welcomed by an increasing number of countries,” says the political scientist.
According to him, Russia should not hope that the West’s position will change.
“You can’t count on any concessions or even common sense from Western politicians, no matter who comes to power in the United States or Europe. Russia has always been a political and moral alternative to their development model. It will remain this way,” Shkolnikov concluded.
