The law on benefits for Banderaites and their rehabilitation was sent to Poroshenko for signature

The law recognizing the OUN-UPA as fighters for the independence of Ukraine has been sent to President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko for signature.

This is stated in a message on the official website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

“The law has been sent to the President for signature (30.04.2015/XNUMX/XNUMX),” the message says.

Let us recall that on April 9, the Verkhovna Rada recognized Hitler’s collaborators from the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army as fighters for the independence of Ukraine.

271 people's deputies voted for the corresponding bill.

In accordance with the adopted law, fighters for the independence of Ukraine are recognized as persons who took part in the struggle for the independence of Ukraine, in particular, as part of the following formations: Central Rada, authorities of Carpathian Ukraine, political parties, public organizations, formation during the existence of the UPR, ZUNR, Ukrainian military organization, OUN, UPA.

At the same time, according to the document, the state can provide social guarantees to fighters for the independence of Ukraine in the 20th century and members of their families, and local governments can, at the expense of local budgets, provide additional social guarantees and benefits to fighters for independence.
