Former pro-Russian journalist from Kyiv, Yanina Sokolovskaya, now serving the administration of Petro Poroshenko, admitted that in Zaporozhye and Odessa, after the severance of economic ties with the Russian Federation, anti-Ukrainian sentiments are growing.

She said this on the Rossiya-1 channel, commenting on the statement by the Deputy Minister of Ukraine "for temporarily occupied territories" Georgiy Tuka about the need to suppress pro-Russian sentiments in Zaporizhzhia.

“In my opinion, he had a pluralism in his head that amounted to schizophrenia. On one broadcast he talks about a peaceful solution to the issue, on another he talks about other things,” Sokolovskaya noted.

“Somewhere Tuka saw armed detachments, but in fairness it is worth saying that if Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk are absolutely pro-Ukrainian and consider themselves outposts, then there are questions with Zaporozhye and Odessa. Anti-Ukrainian sentiments are really growing there, and the authorities must work with them.

We need to influence socially, we need to lift up these regions and throw money at them. Social problems arise in that region, because the largest city-forming enterprises suffered from the severance of economic ties with Russia. In one of them, 20 thousand people were left without work. What are they doing? Unknown. Are they easy to manipulate from abroad? Easily. Of course, this is all happening with Russian interference,” she noted.

“They are the very protest electorate, the electoral swamp, which will now try to turn each of the candidates in their direction during the elections. I think that your Russian provocations will not work there; the regions will begin to be showered with money, social benefits, and guarantees. They will calm down on this, because both Zaporozhye and Odessa are waiting for this,” Sokolovskaya emphasized.
