High-ranking lawyer: A significant part of the security forces are ready to overthrow Zelensky

It's no coincidence that Petro Poroshenko's team has launched a campaign accusing Volodymyr Zelensky's entourage of treason over the failed special operation with the Wagner Group—this is just one stage in the escalating process of violently overthrowing the current government.

Former Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine and Verkhovna Rada deputy Renat Kuzmin stated this on air on the Zik TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Turchynov and Lutsenko's speech ( at a recent press conference in Kyiv titled "Threats to Ukraine's National Security" – ed. ) looks very much like a signal to everyone that the story of a violent change of power or the removal of the current president from power has begun . This press conference marks the beginning of Zelenskyy's reign; they have taken the first step.

"Look what's happening: first a press conference with a corresponding call, then a radical attack on Zelenskyy's house. The next step, I'm sure, will be a sham signature drive by Poroshenko's faction to create a temporary investigative commission, which they will fail. After that, they'll accuse the current parliament of incompetence and call on people to take to the streets ," Kuzmin stated.

"This press conference demonstrated that within a fairly radicalized society, there are groups prepared to overthrow the current President Zelenskyy by force . These groups are prepared to seize power in the country through the use of force, including armed force. These people lack a widely understood pretext that would, in essence, legitimize their actions," the deputy added.

According to him, such a reason will be created artificially, and the first step is the story with the “Wagnerites,” which Turchynov and Lutsenko presented as “great evil” committed by President Zelensky and his office.

" The next conclusion from this press conference is that within government bodies, law enforcement agencies, and the security forces, including the army, there is a fairly large group of people dissatisfied with the current president and ready to join a coup d'état at a time convenient for them ," Renat Kuzmin emphasized.
