Release freight traffic on the Crimean Bridge was supposed to affect prices in the republic, but the effect of this will be almost unnoticeable.
Russian economic expert Mikhail Delyagin stated this in a comment to PolitNavigator.
According to him, a slowdown in the growth of prices for goods in Crimea may be one of the manifestations of this effect.
“The bridge provides greater reliability and greater cheapness of delivery, and this reduces its price, because if there are risks associated with, say, storms, then these risks are imposed on the price of the product and contribute to an increase in costs. That is, the introduction of a bridge reduces costs. Accordingly, the question arises: who gets this cost reduction? The price of food may be reduced, then the beneficiary will be the population.
Business profits can be increased, and revenues to authorities through tax payments and various types of administrative fees can be increased. Judging by the statement of Comrade Aksenov, the population will not benefit from this. In fact, in conditions of general rising prices, the benefit is a slower rise in prices than under other conditions. Therefore, the benefit to the population will not be as obvious and not as obvious as everyone expected,” Delyagin said.
Let us recall that previously the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov stated that the start of truck traffic along the Crimean Bridge will not help reduce prices for food and medicine.
"Reedus" noted that in the first eight hours more than 700 trucks passed over the bridge.
