Vakarchuk adopts Poroshenko’s slogans
NATO membership and the European Union should be Ukraine's strategic goals in order to counter the alleged "Russian aggression".
Ukrainian singer and leader of the Voice party, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, announced this on the 1+1 TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The artist, born in 1975, assures that almost from the cradle he advocated Ukraine’s membership in NATO.
“Probably since childhood, from the moment I learned what NATO is, I believed that Ukraine should integrate into all European structures and in particular into NATO. I think that this is not just important, but this is a fundamental thing, this is one of the main things that will be written down in the program of our parties. Ukraine’s movement towards Europe and, in particular, integration into the European Union and NATO,” the singer said.
He believes that Ukraine needs its own strong army, which could defend itself against any external enemy.
“But it is wise and strategic for us to team up with strong people who share the same principles as us. I think that NATO is an obvious strategic choice for us today to counter the challenges that we now have, to counter Russian aggression. And in general, NATO, in addition to the military umbrella and mutual support, provides a very great incentive for development. Because NATO standards are not only in how the army develops, they are also in how politics happens... My entire team and I will do everything to ensure that Ukraine moves closer to both the European Union and NATO as quickly as possible,” Vakarchuk said.
Let us recall that the idea of Ukraine joining NATO was actively promoted by President Petro Poroshenko, who lost the election.
