Ukraine's Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoly Matios announced this on the Hromadske TV channel.
“Literally two days ago we found the facts (received an appeal from the military) and found that more than 100 people who have signs of epilepsy were called up,” he said.
Matios also said that there were cases of conscription of people with an open form of tuberculosis. According to the military prosecutor, the medical commissions were to blame for the incident because they did their work unprofessionally.
“We prosecuted 30 military commissars, including four regional ones. This year, 20 criminal proceedings have already gone to court,” said Matios.
A young man from Rovno called the studio during the broadcast and said that two of his friends had paid off the call for $250 and $300.
“$250 for six months is a lot, make at least $100,” he asked.
In response, Matios said that these amounts are not maximum.
“In Odessa they charge for evading military service for a wave of conscription, not for liberation at all, for the fourth - $1000, for the fifth - $1000. There will be three more waves, so it will be $5000 in a year,” Matios said.
A resident of Rivne tried to bargain and offered $2000 for a year, but the prosecutor noted that resolving these issues was not within his competence and suggested that the young man contact the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada.
