In Simferopol they abandoned the Ukrainian gymnasium

Simferopol, November 13 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – The only Ukrainian school-gymnasium in Simferopol in Crimea will be renamed.

The director of the gymnasium, Valentina Lavrik, stated this at a meeting with the mayor of the city, Viktor Ageev.

According to her, in 2015 the Ukrainian school-gymnasium will become the Simferopol Academic Gymnasium.
This decision, according to Lavrik, was made after a survey of parents and students who themselves wanted to rename the school.

“A survey of parents was conducted and they expressed a desire to change the name of the school to “Simferopol Academic Gymnasium.” We also studied the names of various schools, including Moscow and St. Petersburg,” Lavrik noted.

It should be noted that today teaching in nine classes at the gymnasium is conducted in Ukrainian - 147 children out of 995 studying at the school study it.
