On the morning of May 8, a memorial in memory of the city’s liberators, located in Karl Marx Park, collapsed in Rostov-on-Don. This happened while the Armenian delegation was laying flowers at the Eternal Flame.

At that moment, schoolchildren were standing at post No. 1 near the memorial. The fallen element of the monument miraculously did not hit 15-year-old Susanna Taroyan, a student at gymnasium No. 19 in the Pervomaisky district.

At first, the girl did not even show that she was worried, and left her post only at the request of her elders. Only then, when her friends and teachers surrounded her, the girl began to cry.

The rest of the guys continued to stand near the emergency memorial until the end of the event.

The day before, the Rostov authorities announced the restoration of monuments on the eve of May 9.
