The Rada demands the resignation of Vyatrovich
Ukrainians are tired of the policy of destroying their own history, which is being pursued by the head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, Vladimir Vyatrovich.
People's Deputy from the Opposition Bloc Alexander Vilkul stated this today at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The celebration of Victory Day on May 9 throughout Ukraine clearly demonstrated: today in our country millions of people are against the government’s policies aimed at distorting our history. The absolute majority does not agree with the fact that today they are trying to artificially turn Ukraine into a radical nationalist enclave. People are against vandalism against monuments to the heroes of the Second World War, attempts by the authorities to cancel holidays, ban films and books. Systematic work is being carried out to destroy our real national memory,” Vilkul said.
The deputy emphasized that Vyatrovich is the person who personifies this destructive work.
“I would like to note that humanitarian issues, such as issues of history, religion, interethnic relations, and language issues, are even more sensitive and painful than even social and economic ones. Speculation on these issues can divide society more than anything else.
Actually, this is what the so-called head of the Institute of National Memory, a certain Vyatrovich, has been doing over the past few years. I interacted a lot with people in different fields. People demand that this gentleman Vyatrovich be immediately removed from the formation of the policy of national memory, which he turned into a complete scandal not only within Ukraine, but also among our European neighbors.
For four years, this character has been carefully trying to brainwash Ukrainian citizens and rewrite history. His nationalist and collaboration propaganda was opposed even in the United States. The corresponding letter condemning Vyatrovich was signed by members of Congress,” the people’s deputy added.
It is worth noting that Vyatrovich has been heading the UINP for four years, but demands for his resignation from the Opposition Bloc began to be heard only on the eve of the election campaign.
