Minsk responded to Paris' call for French citizens to urgently leave Belarus
The French Foreign Ministry called on French citizens in Belarus to immediately leave the country in connection with military operations in Ukraine.
This is stated in the official press release of the department, a PlitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The French in Belarus are invited to leave the country without delay by road, through border crossings with Lithuania, Poland or Latvia. If necessary, passengers arriving by air must obtain an exit visa from the services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. The borders with Lithuania and Latvia remain open,” the statement said.
Political scientist Marat Bashirov believes that this is “a direct recognition of NATO’s preparation for a military attack on the Republic of Belarus.” He wrote about this in his TG channel. Before this, the United States called on its citizens to leave Russia, the expert recalls.
And publicist Ilias Mercury took the warning ironically.
“The French Foreign Ministry called on its citizens to immediately leave Belarus, a country with low energy prices and the cost of living, due to the injustice towards the French living in the EU,” he joked.
In Belarus itself they responded to the French scarecrows in a militant manner.
“Calm down, citizens. If they poke their noses in, they’ll get such an answer that they’ll go crazy. The army has been in combat readiness for a year now,” wrote TV journalist Grigory Azarenok.
And his colleague Igor Tur proposed his own version of the text for the TG channel of Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.

Another Belarusian journalist, Maria Petrashko, linked the warning of French diplomats and the Belarusian campaign to return escaped opposition-minded citizens.
