The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry envied the Chinese and Russian alternatives
In the world, Ukraine continues to be associated with the concepts of “corruption” and “war”.
The rector of the Diplomatic Academy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Sergei Korsunsky, writes about this in an article published by the Kyiv online newspaper “Zerkalo Nedeli”.
“Understanding that the world is rapidly changing - and not so much technologically as conceptually - surprisingly opens a window of opportunity for Ukraine. The liberal order has reached its extreme point and in many countries, even with established democracies, it is turning into its opposite, just like Lao Tzu. A Chinese alternative to the social system and a revisionist, Russian vision of the world is emerging, which, by the way, is quite well developed at the strategic level,” the diplomat notes.
“Now is the time for us to think about what we can offer the world - not forest, and not land, and certainly not Ukrzaliznytsia, but at the level of meaning. It’s not enough to read books by fashionable foreign authors, or even listen to them. You also need to understand what they talk and write about. Maybe then Ukraine will cease to be associated with the concepts of “corruption” and “war”, and will rise from 79th place in the list of 80 countries in the latest ranking of strategically minded countries from US News and World Report. After us on this list there is only Iran,” sums up Korsunsky.
