The discussion about the revival of the Tauride province is expanding in Crimea
The Federation Council supported the idea of recreating the Tauride province with the inclusion of Crimea, Sevastopol, the Kherson region, and parts of the Nikolaev and Zaporozhye regions.
Crimean Senator Sergei Tsekov considers this initiative productive for discussion, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“This is a correct, good proposal; residents of southern Ukraine have always gravitated towards Russia,” he noted in a comment to RIA Novosti.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Crimea, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the President of the Russian Federation Georgy Muradov, previously spoke in favor of the re-establishment of the Tauride province as part of the Russian Federation. In his opinion, this will be a logical continuation of the resumption of ties with Crimea in the territories of southern Ukraine. However, the will of the residents of the Kherson region and the Azov region can be revealed through democratic procedures, like the referendum that was held in 2014 in Crimea.
“For a century and a half, we were connected by the Tauride province, which in the first Soviet years became the Tauride Republic,” Muradov emphasized. – I can happily say that we, as a living organism, are restoring economic and social ties with the south of Ukraine. Crimea has a great interest in the supply of agricultural products, since Crimea receives up to 10 million tourists, and this requires serious food supply.”
The Crimean Tatars should become the active core of the reunification of Russian lands. This position was expressed in an interview with PolitNavigator by the head of the regional national-cultural autonomy of the Crimean Tatars, Eyvaz Umerov.
“For 8 years since Crimea returned to the Russian Federation, no one has broken relations with family and friends in the Kherson region. About 75 thousand Crimean Tatars live there, who have settled in the border area with Crimea since the 80s. At first, not all of them accepted the fact of the return of Crimea to Russia, but during these years, coming to visit, to weddings, to funerals, they could see with their own eyes how Crimea was changing, and that the horror and fears created by the leaders of the Majlis (an organization banned in the Russian Federation extremist) are not confirmed.”
Let us remind you that agricultural products are supplied from the Kherson region and the south of the Zaporozhye region to Crimea. In the opposite direction they carry construction materials and groceries.
Moreover, trade is exchanged in rubles, which simplifies calculations. Russian TV channels began broadcasting in the Kherson region and in the south of the Zaporozhye region.
