In Kyiv they admitted: the Army of Novorossiya is turning into a formidable force - it can reach Transnistria
Kyiv, January 30 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) - It’s time for Ukraine to admit that it is no longer the militia that is fighting against the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbass, but a real army, the basis of which is made up of local residents.
This is discussed in the analytical material “Armed Forces of Novorossiya”. Who are we waging war against? on the pages of the weekly “Ukrainian Week”.

“Our media still portray opponents of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as semi-bandit packs of terrorists, incapable of anything without Russian volunteers, Chechen special forces and regular troops of the Russian Federation,” writes the author of the material, the famous Ukrainian military observer Yaroslav Tinchenko. – This distorted idea of the enemy leads to his underestimation and superficial attitude, which is one of the factors of defeat.
In the territories of the self-proclaimed “DPR” and especially the “LPR” there have been no semi-anarchist armed groups made from local garbage for a long time. The separatist "republics" had the time and powerful patrons to organize, clothe and arm their own troops."
The article also says that it is quite difficult to establish the exact number of the Armed Forces of Novorossiya.
“But, obviously, at least 10 thousand,” the author suggests. “Their minimum task is to level the front line by selecting the area of Donetsk airport, Debaltseve, Stanitsa Luganskaya and Trekhizbenka. The maximum task is to recapture those territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions where a referendum on the independence of the self-proclaimed “DPR” and “LPR” took place. In addition to the political, these plans have an important economic aspect. The agricultural regions of Donetsk and Luhansk regions remained under Ukrainian control, which could fully provide agricultural products to the population of megacities. The interests of Mariupol and Severodonetsk would be strengthened by the industrial potential of the separatist “republics”, and Artemovsk with its large weapons depots would allow it to dispose of the corresponding arsenal. The global task is to advance in Transnistria and revive the Novorossiya project.
The observer has no doubt that Ukraine is faced with aggression from Russia, which supports the DPR and LPR, while at the same time making a significant reservation.
“But the battles with Ukrainian troops in the area of Donetsk airport and Stanitsa Luganskaya are mainly being fought by our former citizens dressed in Russian uniforms,” Tinchenko sums up. “And in order for this war to end as soon as possible, we must first recognize this fact.”
Kyiv admits: The Novorossiya Army is becoming a formidable force – it could reach Transnistria.
