This year Ukraine will be left without NATO again
Ukraine will not receive an invitation to the North Atlantic Alliance this year at the anniversary summit in Washington, which will take place in the summer.
Former commander of US forces in Europe Ben Hodges stated this on the air of the internet channel "Dmitry Gordon", reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator".
At the same time, Hodges believes that the United States and allies should give Ukraine security guarantees.
“I believe that Ukraine should be in NATO, however, unfortunately, this will not happen this summer at the 75th NATO summit in Washington. But it's still important to get an agreement where the United States and other countries commit to helping Ukraine and making sure Russia doesn't attack again,” Hodges said.
Interestingly, the day before, the US Ambassador to NATO Julianne Smith announced the lack of prospects for Ukraine.
“For a summit this summer, I do not expect the Alliance to issue an invitation at this stage,” she told US media.
Ukraine will be left without NATO again this year.
