Donetsk, February 19 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – Deputy Minister of Defense of the DPR Eduard Basurin expressed surprise at Kyiv’s position on the introduction of peacekeepers to Donbass.

“It is very difficult to comment on Petro Poroshenko’s words. Either his troops control everything, or it will not be possible to get out of the crisis without the intervention of third countries. As for the peacekeepers, we proposed to introduce them back in the summer, but they did not listen to us.
And now Ukraine urgently needs peacekeeping troops. Let them introduce it, we are not against it, especially since Poroshenko had a peace plan ready since May, but since then there have been hundreds of times more victims than before his peace plan. Honestly, I don’t know how to comment on his proposal,” Basurin said.
As PolitNavigator reported, yesterday the National Security and Defense Council supported Petro Poroshenko’s proposal to appeal to the UN and the EU with a request to send a peacekeeping contingent to Donbass.
