Fishing has decreased in Azov – politics and the Crimean Bridge have nothing to do with it
Fish catches in the Sea of Azov have decreased by 2 tons this year. Crimean Agriculture Minister Andrei Ryumshin announced this at a press conference in Simferopol, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“This was not influenced by politics or the construction of the bridge, as you might think. Science gives its recommendations and stops fishing when necessary. Scientists have decided that catching a certain type of fish should be prohibited. There were flounder and mullet with caviar. We hope that next year there will be more fish and we will compensate for the losses,” said Ryumshin.
According to the State Fisheries Agency of Ukraine, Ukrainian sailors caught more than 26 tons of fish and other biological resources from the Sea of Azov from November 7 to December 2018, 920.
