Ukrainian pension is only enough for rotten vegetables – media
In Ukraine, pension reform was recently approved and pension increases were announced. However, most of the country's population still lives below the poverty line. According to official Ukrainian statistics and the UN, their expenses amount to less than $1 per day.

In Krasnoarmeysk (territory of the Donetsk region), which is controlled by Ukraine, journalists from the local TV channel “Do You” conducted a small poll on the streets of the city. The main questions were: “Are residents happy with the pension supplement?”, “Do they have enough money for the minimum food package?”, and also “What are ordinary Ukrainians forced to limit themselves to in order to somehow make ends meet.”
“What I earn would be enough, if not for one “but” - the constant increase in prices. But first, prices are raised, and only then salaries and pensions,” says a local resident.
Pensioners are forced to save on everything, from ordinary essential products to clothing:
“I save on clothes, you see for yourself. I can’t go anywhere.”
“If before my pension was enough to live more or less normally, now this is clearly not the case,” complains another local resident.
Some Ukrainians are lucky - they have their own plot of land on which they grow vegetables and fruits in order to later try to sell them in markets. Someone also does handicrafts, which they also sell. And for those who do not have their own garden, there is only one thing left: to buy “spoiled” products, which, unfortunately, today are in particular demand among city residents. Almost all large grocery stores have counters with goods that have either expired or are already spoiled.
