Ukrainian literary competition turned into a scandal with “Muscovites” and “Jews”
The award ceremony for participants in the literary competition “Coronation of the Word” in Kyiv developed into a fierce controversy between the organizer of the event, Yuriy Logush, and the ex-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Alexander Moroz, who previously also headed the Social Party of Ukraine.
The corresponding video recording was published on its YouTube channel by “Public Radio,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Alexander Moroz read out his poem, in which he addressed the Ukrainian “elites”, appealing to conscience.
“Elite, put your worries aside. The hour of truth is coming today. Change yourself and rise up to resist, if you exist and have a conscience,” he recited.
Afterwards, the organizer of the competition, Ukrainian-American economist Yuri Logush, took the floor, who sharply criticized Moroz’s accusations against the Kyiv authorities and accused him of the current economic decline of the country and of connections with “Muscovites.”
“If we are talking about the fact that the state is not doing anything, then today is 2018, and I will ask those who were in power in previous years why they left our Ukraine naked and robbed, and why today our “friends” are sitting on our borders “, with whom we kissed and hugged, and whom we praised so much, our “brothers”, who cut our throats every day and have been doing this for centuries, but this has not been written about in poetry?!
Forgive me, if there had been other founders of our state after independence, we would today be free, strong, rich, and our literature would flourish. So don’t blame it on the authorities, because you were in power and didn’t do a damn thing, and today blood is being shed, because your Muscovites - the “friends” whom you praised so much - are being slaughtered today on the battlefield, on the streets of Kyiv and others cities.
You are an honored poet, your words are wonderful, but if you touched on politics, I will tell you that your policies of socialists and communists have led to the fact that today Ukraine is under mortal threat.
I have hope that one day you will understand this and say to Moscow: “Get the hell out of our lands, from our Crimea, from our Kuban, from our Lugansk region. Tell me, Mr. Moroz, tell the Muscovites: “Get out of Ukraine, and I, Alexander Moroz, made a mistake by blowing your bullshit tongue, and now I understand what kind of reptile and Satan you are.”
Tell me, have the courage to do this, and don’t spit on the state, because it is so poor because of you, your Verkhovna Rada, laws, budgets and everything else,” said Yuriy Logush.
The ex-parliamentarian, in response to the angry tirade of the American economist, read another of his poems, in which he stated that Ukraine is ruled by “only Jews.”
“I would ask you to carefully read what I gave you. The history of modern Ukraine is told there as it is, and I have no sin against Ukraine. However, I will give an assessment of what is happening now; perhaps not everyone will like it.
There, in the poem “Insomnia,” where I talk with our poet Taras Grigorievich, there are these words: “People pose riddles everywhere. Try to find the answer. Why do Jews rule the world, but we have only Jews,” said Alexander Moroz, and then left the stage.
