Ukraine saved tens of millions of hryvnia on truant MPs

In 2018, Ukraine saved more than UAH 16 million on deputies who skipped meetings of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This became known from the response of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to a request from the Kyiv edition of UNN.
“As a result of calculating wages only for days actually worked, from January to December 2018, savings were made in the funds provided for the payment of wages to people’s deputies of Ukraine in the amount of UAH 16,” the message says.
The Verkhovna Rada office noted that they pay salaries to people's deputies of Ukraine on the basis of timesheets submitted by the committees in which they work.
