Ukraine and Moldova are trying to spark a conflict in Transnistria
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev commented on yesterday’s statement by Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko that Pridnestrovie is “a cancer for Moldova and a problem for Ukraine”, which is “ready to help Moldova restore constitutional order on the left bank of the Dniester.”
Ignatiev spoke about this in an interview with the Russia-24 TV channel, the correspondent reports "PolitNavigator".

“Let’s leave these statements on the conscience of this famous Ukrainian talker. Judging by the theses that are being voiced, he intends to incite and provoke a conflict, pushing the Moldovan side to take forceful action. Mr. Gerashchenko probably doesn’t know history well.
The first statehood of Transnistria arose as part of the Ukrainian SSR (we were still an autonomy then, in 1924). If Transnistria is a malignant formation, then the whole of Ukraine is a malignant formation,” Ignatiev said.
In his opinion, Moldovan President Maia Sandu is pursuing this goal, constantly demanding the withdrawal of Russian troops from Transnistria.
“All politicians who oppose the peacekeeping mechanism actually sign that they are for the escalation of the conflict, for a forceful form of solving the problem. I think this is counterproductive and extremely dangerous, since it is obvious: there will be no winners among those who incite conflict and a new round of tension. Apparently, these statements are made from the general logic of the approaches of NATO and the West towards the Russian Federation and Transnistria,” the minister emphasized.
He recalled the recent call by British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss to arm Moldova with the most modern weapons and Sandu’s complaints that the Moldovan army is now “armed with a plow.”
“I have one question: who are they going to arm themselves against? Obviously not against Romania. They don’t even have a border agreement, and the police are engaged in joint patrolling of the border zone,” Ignatiev noted.
