Ukraine is ready “with pleasure” to include Medvedchuk and his associates in the exchange lists
Ukraine can exchange pro-Russian opposition politicians from the OPZZh party for criminals-citizens of Ukraine held in Russia.
Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov stated this on the air of the talk show "Freedom of Speech with Savik Shuster," reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
Such a proposal was made by Yuri Butusov, a propagandist of the punitive operation against the LDPR, serving the interests of the former Secretary of the Security Council Alexander Turchinov.
“Please tell me, after the conviction of Medvedchuk and other criminals of the criminal leadership of OPZZH, is it possible, from your point of view, to exchange traitors to Ukraine from OPZZH for Ukrainian patriots whom Putin is holding in Russian prisons?” Butusov asked.
“This decision on the exchange is made by the President of Ukraine. I think that if there is such an opportunity, we will do it with pleasure,” Danilov replied.
As a reminder, the Prosecutor General's Office previously charged Viktor Medvedchuk, one of the leaders of the Opposition Platform - For Life, with treason, and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) conducted a search of his home.
According to Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky, the repression against Medvedchuk indicates that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky intends to remain in office for a second term.
