Not everything went according to plan for Zelensky
During a meeting between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, the parties were unable to agree on the text of a common statement.
This is stated in a report by the BBC Ukrainian service, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The journalists did not specify what exactly caused the discord, but noted that it was Zelensky who initiated the meeting.
“Vladimir Zelensky met with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in Istanbul, but not everything went according to plan - the parties did not agree on a joint statement. Negotiations at the Patriarch’s residence on Phanar took place behind closed doors, after which Zelensky went to a festive dinner and visited the St. George Cathedral... According to our sources, it was the Ukrainian president who initiated the meeting with the Patriarch,” the story says.
As a reminder, during a visit to Istanbul, Volodymyr Zelenskyy's security guards seized a Russian journalist and prevented her from approaching the Ukrainian leader.
It was also reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's attempt to secure Turkey's support in the standoff with Russia was unsuccessful.
