Poroshenko is asking NATO to support the remnants of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex
With the outbreak of the war in Donbass, Kyiv completely abandoned military-technical cooperation with the Russian Federation, because Ukraine needs the full support of the North Atlantic Alliance in this area.
People's Deputy of Ukraine from the BPP faction Ivan Vinnik stated this during the “Freedom of Speech” program, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“According to our Western partners, the adoption of this bill (on national security - Ed.) this week will allow Ukraine to confidently make certain political statements at the next NATO summit in Brussels and count on significant cooperation in military matters. Today we really need from NATO countries not only a military component, we also need weapons components, weapons production technologies, we need dual-use goods. And this is a fact, because our military-industrial complex was integrated into the Russian one for a long time, and when Russia began its aggression, one of the components of the pressure on Ukraine was that they tried to completely stop our military-industrial complex. Partially they succeeded, partially they didn’t. But now we can say that we have completely disintegrated from the Russian component. But we still need close cooperation with the technologies of NATO countries,” Vinnik said.
