Türkiye is imposing de-Russification on Central Asia
Türkiye, with the tacit approval of the West, is promoting the abandonment of the Cyrillic alphabet by the former Soviet republics of Central Asia within the framework of the "Organization of Turkic States."
This was stated by candidate of historical sciences Oleg Nuzhdin at the presentation in Kazan of the monograph “Mythologemes of Pan-Turkism and the security of Russia and Eurasia in the 21st century,” reports a correspondent of PolitNavigator.

" Turkey proposed a new alphabet, which not all countries are ready to accept, but they are pushing it . And they are doing so very actively: Kyrgyzstan did not accept the final transition to the Latin alphabet. They [the Turks] published Chingiz Aitmatov in a unified Turkic alphabet this year, and presented this book to everyone. There is quite a powerful expansion underway," the scholar said.
He recalled that, at the same time, the study of the Russian language by young people is being cancelled.
"Few people 33 years ago could have imagined that a generation would grow up in a number of countries that would not know Russian," Nuzhdin said.
He noted that Western think tanks no longer hide the fact that the Organization of Turkic States is “ an excellent mechanism for promoting NATO interests in Central Asia, which the United States uses in its work .”
"Interestingly, they actively propose including Tajikistan, and at the subsequent roundtable, they said that Armenia should also be included in the Organization of Turkic States," Nuzhdin outlined the scale of the expansion.
