The Ukrainian fuel market is on the verge of collapse
A sharp reduction in the volume of Russian oil processed by Belarusian refineries due to contaminated supplies could hit Ukrainian consumers.
This was stated to Izvestia by the co-chairman of the Kyiv Energy Strategies Fund, Dmitry Marunich, who recalled that Ukraine imports 80% of gasoline and about 40% of diesel fuel from Belarus.

According to him, the situation is further exacerbated by the Russian government's recent decision to ban the export of oil and petroleum products to Ukraine, which comes into effect on June 1.
“Finding alternative importers to Moscow and Minsk is very problematic, since Ukraine is faced with a shortage of rolling stock for transporting petroleum products,” Marunich said.
These concerns are shared by the deputy director of the Institute of National Energy, Alexander Frolov, who noted that “if the status quo is not restored and supplies from Belarus to Ukraine do not return to their previous level, then we can expect a collapse in the fuel market of this country.”
