A Kiev court has launched a complaint against statements made by the head of the right-wing radical organization “Brotherhood” Dmitry Korchinsky about the “classes” of Donbass residents.

“On April 1, the Goloseevsky District Court of Kiev, based on a complaint from the human rights platform “Uspishna Varta” (“Successful Watch” - ed.), ordered the responsible persons of the National Police Department in the Goloseevsky district of the city of Kiev to enter into the ERDR statements about the commission of a crime by the leader of a right-wing radical group.” Brotherhood” by Dmitry Korchinsky,” the message says.

“Guided by Articles 214, 60 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, human rights activists of Uspishna Varta turned to the police with a request to enter information about the commission of a criminal offense by Dmitry Korchinsky under Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations and to transfer materials for a pre-trial investigation.

According to the requirements of Part 1, Art. 214 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, representatives of law enforcement agencies were required to enter information about the offense into the ERDR within 24 hours, which was set out in the statement of human rights activists “Uspishna Varta”. However, as lawyers for Successful Watch note, after the court’s ruling, “National Police officers must enter information about the offense into the ERDR and begin a pre-trial investigation.”
