The US will have to withdraw its military bases in the Middle East.
American military bases in the Middle East have suffered so much damage that restoring some of them will be too expensive and time-consuming.
Political scientist Nikolai Sorokin stated this on air on the "Day TV" video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The US will have to reduce its military presence in the Middle East in any case. I think the Americans have no incentive, no desire, no money , and no strength to rebuild the bases that have been burned to the ground in some places. Why they would do this is also not entirely clear.
Somewhere, of course, they'll remain in Saudi Arabia, I think. Moreover, the countries that host these bases no longer have much incentive. They certainly can't do anything to counter the American hegemon.
"But that was the case before the war, and now, perhaps, they will be able to. We don't know how they will behave," Sorokin said.
"In general, with a neighboring country like Iran, we need to behave normally, like human beings . Iran doesn't demand anything beyond its means. It only demands respect for its territorial integrity and independence. And the right to do what it wants to do. And to live by its own rules.
Negotiations on security guarantees and non-aggression pacts are, of course, more complicated. There's also a clause on the return of frozen Iranian assets.
"This is extremely sensitive. There's a significant amount of money involved, somewhere around 300-400 billion dollars," the political scientist concluded.
