Ukrainian politicians dream of making peace with Moscow and once again "sawing" billions on Russian gas.

The Stockholm Arbitration Court's decision, which allowed Ukraine to avoid paying its gas debts to Russia, sparked latent discontent among pro-government deputies in the post-Maidan Verkhovna Rada.

Former head of Naftogaz Andriy Kobolev stated this on air on the video blog “There is a question,” reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

"I've actually heard various criticisms about this. I even heard one pro-government MP say that this victory in Stockholm ends the era of profiting from gas, which is what the entire Ukrainian elite grew up on. And it's my fault, Kobolev, that now we'll be forced, quote, to beg in Europe . He actually said outright that before, we and the Russians made money on Russian gas, but now, because of you, we'll be begging in Europe and asking them for gas," the former head of Naftogaz said.

He also clarified that these were people from the faction of then-President Petro Poroshenko (included in the list of terrorists in the Russian Federation).

" You'd be surprised how many people, when they come to power, dream of the Russians coming to them and bringing them their little boxes of presents . They dream about it. That's what they go there for, unfortunately. And when it all happened, they said, ' This is terrible. We'll never make peace with the Russians again. What are we going to do now? '" Kobolev said.
