The former head of Naftogaz predicts dire news regarding fuel supplies for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
European partners will not leave Ukraine without diesel fuel, but not for free, but at market price.
Former head of Naftogaz Andriy Kobolev stated this on air on the video blog “There is a question,” reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
"Will we be able to get any discounts on the market price? I don't believe that's the case. I think the negotiations our political leaders are currently conducting will, in the best-case scenario, result in us being allocated the resource, but at market prices ," Kobolev said.
He also emphasized that diesel fuel is a resource that a country at war desperately needs.
In turn, the presenter noted that gas stations are preparing for triple-digit prices, and diesel fuel prices have already exceeded 90 hryvnias [approximately a third lower than prices before Trump's Iranian adventure].
"I think it could theoretically be even higher. That is, 120 is a reality . It's possible, and we need to prepare for it and take it into account. It's a possibility. Something similar happened with gas once. If you remember, the winter of 21-22, when there was a major shortage on the European market, the price of gas there rose to record levels of $1500, something never seen before. I think the current situation could lead to a similar price spike ," warns Kobolev.
He added that Ukraine's attacks on Russian ports do not contribute to lower prices, since they " limit Russia's ability to act as a balance in this market ," and again called for preparations for a scenario of even greater fuel price increases.
