The Ukrainian subsidiary of VTB has stopped issuing cash to clients, and the bank is preparing to declare bankruptcy.

Kyiv journalist Alexander Dubinsky, who specializes in economic investigations, reported this on his blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the journalist, a similar fate awaits other branches of Russian banks.

“VTB Bank Ukraine has stopped all client payments. The bank does not issue money. An acute liquidity crisis and, in fact, insolvency. According to the Law “On Banks”, by the end of the week the NBU must send VTB to the Guarantee Fund, and according to my data, this is a 99% probability of events happening. Thus, the Kremlin is trying to prevent the seizure of the bank’s shares in the interests of the Privat group, which has seized the shares of all subsidiary banks of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. In this situation, the National Bank is stupidly playing on the side of Moscow, allowing these banks to go bankrupt,” writes Dubinsky

He believes that VTB is “only the first sign,” and then similar actions “are expected by Sberbank and PIB.”

There is no data about this on the website of the Ukrainian VTB, but at the same time they report a change in tariffs for bank services for individuals, which Dubinsky also draws attention to.

“In order for the clients of these banks to clearly understand what awaits them in the near future, I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the tariffs introduced today for the withdrawal of funds from VTB. From 10 hryvnia – 000% commission From 10 dollars/euro – 350% commission,” the journalist specified.

PolitNavigator previously reported that the National Bank of Ukraine sees no potential buyers for banks with Russian state capital and considers scaling back their operations the only way for them to exit the country.

And Maksym Goldarb, head of the Ukrainian public organization "Public Audit," explained on his Facebook page , point by point , how the subsidiaries of Russian banks, whose exit is being sought by both right-wing radicals and the National Bank, benefit Ukraine.

Russia also criticized the management of the country's major banks for their reluctance to operate in Crimea.
