Belgrade continues to provide assistance to Republika Srpska during the pandemic
After a meeting with Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that a larger aid shipment than previous ones will soon be sent to Republika Srpska.
Serbian media reported this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“We provided significant support to the RS by sending medical devices and protective equipment there,” Vucic said. “In the next two or three days we will send a larger shipment of aid there, these will be hundreds of thousands of protective gloves, masks and new ventilators... At such moments, we are on the same side.”
In turn, the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency noted that Serbia’s assistance is currently crucial for the Republika Srpska’s fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.
“I came (to Belgrade - ed.) to ask for additional help in the form of mechanical ventilation and everything that was required, and received approval,” Milorad Dodik commented on the situation. “Without Serbia, it would be difficult for us to bear all this, and our healthcare system simply would not be able to withstand the load.
Serbia has developed a comprehensive program to help the economy, and we are following it to alleviate the situation in our economy. The main issue we are faced with is the big Easter holiday that is coming to us. We must prevent the spread of the virus, and that is why we agreed on the measures (quarantine - ed.) of Serbia and Republika Srpska. We ask believers for understanding and to comply with the measures that we are forced to take.”
In turn, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Radovan Viskovic noted that the epidemiological situation in the Serbian entity of BiH for the last 10-15 days has been good, “since there is no exponential increase in the number of infected people, but there is a linear movement,” which the head of government associates with the measures taken by the leadership of the republic . According to his forecasts, if trends continue, emergency regulations will begin to be relaxed after the Easter holidays, that is, after April 27, and the lifting of restrictions will begin after May 10.
