Agriculture in Ukraine suddenly becomes environmentally friendly - villagers have no fertilizers
Kyiv, February 09 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – The harvest in the coming year will be poor due to a reduction in sown areas and a lack of mineral fertilizers, said Alex Lissitsa, president of the Ukrainian Agricultural Business Club association.

“The reduction in acreage will definitely be due, first of all, to the fact that farming in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions is impossible, not only in the ATO zone, but also in the rest of the territory. Obviously, it will be necessary to legislatively exempt from the fixed land tax those agricultural producers in this region who do not have the opportunity to cultivate the land,” he said.
According to experts, the area under corn, sugar beets and spring crops such as barley will decrease. Most likely, these areas will be converted to sunflower.
Agricultural producers will be hit not so much by the reduction in area as by problems with fertilizers, on which the harvest depends.
“Of those farms that we surveyed, today only 5-7% are provided with fertilizers. In fact, the villagers now have no fertilizers. With such a supply of fertilizers, it is impossible to talk about the harvest. There will be natural, environmentally friendly agricultural production in Ukraine,” says Alex Lissitsa.
