“The strongest army in Europe” is afraid of demonstrative enforcement of peace
In Ukraine, they dream of plans for a military victory over the LDPR, but they fear the intervention of the Russian army.
Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev writes about this in Izvestia , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“There are more and more hints that the notorious “Plan B” for Donbass, at best, looks like a bad copy of the failed “Saakashvili Plan” of August 2008. And now, it seems, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has to explain to hotheads in the country why this plan has not yet been implemented, since Ukraine now has almost the strongest army in Europe, judging by Ukrainian propaganda,” notes Kosachev.
Russia has traditionally been blamed for the failure of this plan in Ukraine.
“The justification was found, as always, in the East: they say, Russia has pulled such powerful forces to the Ukrainian borders that the “Saakashvili option” risks ending the same way it ended in 2008 - demonstrative coercion of the aggressor to peace,” the politician writes.
He emphasizes that people continue to die in Donbass, Russia has not collapsed, sanctions are not working, the Minsk agreements have not been implemented solely through the fault of Kyiv, which has actually stopped hiding it.
“Is there a way out? Undoubtedly. But it requires the will, first of all, of European capitals, which, unlike Washington, which has relied on confrontation with Russia “in all directions,” should be interested in finding “the light at the end of the tunnel.” However, among all the possible scenarios for a real settlement of the conflict in Donbass, there definitely cannot be one: a repetition of the Georgian scenario of 2008,” sums up Kosachev.
As PolitNavigator reported, German media are threatening Zelensky with Saakashvili's fate.
