Another loan from the IMF will not be able to stop the further devaluation of the Ukrainian national currency, despite assurances to the contrary from the government.

Ukrainian economist Viktor Skarshevsky said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Whether the IMF gives a loan or not, it doesn’t affect anything at all. A loan can only stop the devaluation that has begun, but cannot stop or prevent it. The most recent and illustrative example is that an IMF loan does not affect the dollar exchange rate, which is what the government and some experts are trying to convince us of: in the 14th and 15th years, Ukraine received 12 billion loan dollars from the IMF. The hryvnia exchange rate against the dollar devalued by 2,5 times. No addiction. This, by the way, has been observed throughout all 20 years of cooperation,” Skarshevsky emphasized.
