After the pandemic, a number of unions and alliances will be subject to review - Lavrov
After the world overcomes such a challenge as the coronavirus pandemic, Russia will need to rethink a lot with regard to the activities of multilateral international structures.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this during an online conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The pandemic poses serious problems, first of all, directly related to the main task - saving people’s lives, ensuring their medical and biological safety and a comfortable human environment. The second challenge is the economy of individual countries, the global economy, how the pandemic affects trade and investment exchanges, and exchange rates.
You can see what is happening with the demand for various goods that were usually very popular, including energy. All this now has to be solved “on the fly” at the level of individual countries and the organizations they belong to. And the third challenge is the current situation, which tests the strength of not only states, but also the integration and other associations to which these states belong,” said the head of the Foreign Ministry.
“I think that after we overcome this global threat through joint efforts and develop an antidote in case such events recur in the future, we will have to rethink a lot with regard to the activities of multilateral structures.
We will probably better understand what Europeans in particular think about the EU, about the North Atlantic Alliance, we will better understand how to approach cooperation in the post-Soviet space, in the activities of the EAEU, other structures, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, there will probably be very, very promising discussions in formats such as the GXNUMX and BRICS,” Lavrov added.
