Parubiy points for the future of language law
The Verkhovna Rada received four draft resolutions to repeal the law on total Ukrainization adopted by parliament.
This promise was made by Speaker of Parliament Andrei Parubiy during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I want to inform you that four resolutions have already been received to repeal the law on the Ukrainian language. And I also want to inform you that the regulations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine give two days for the introduction of such resolutions. That is, the point is that the repeal of these resolutions does not pose any difficulties for the Verkhovna Rada. But if we reject them faster than in two days, and the law is signed faster than in two days, this may call into question the legitimacy of the law.
What is the advantage of going through the law through the full procedure? The advantage is that the entire procedure has been followed to the last iota - both the committee decision and ten days in the table, and every amendment has been considered. If now we allow a minimal violation, then there is no doubt that they will go to the Constitutional Court, and this may call the law into question,” Parubiy said.
He also promised that the law on total Ukrainization will definitely be adopted, and the opposition will not have a single chance to prevent it.
“There’s nothing to worry about. At the next plenary meeting we will consider all these resolutions, I will immediately sign the language law, and President Petro Poroshenko will immediately sign the law. But we must not give the opportunity for the Constitutional Court to have a chance to question the law on the Ukrainian language,” the speaker assured.
