Ukraine should remain on the Western agenda because it represents a barrier for Eastern European countries from Russia.
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko stated this on Channel 24, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The issues of Donbass and Ukraine are not disappearing from the agenda for one simple reason - because in the West, thank God, they finally realized that Russia is a threat, a serious threat. That this is, as Borrell recently said, a dangerous neighbor. And therefore the West needs to take very serious measures in order to contain this dangerous neighbor.
And Ukraine is objectively so, it is at the forefront of this containment, because if Ukraine, God forbid, falls, then European countries like the Baltics, Poland, and so on will begin to crumble. Therefore, for the West, we were, are and remain a very serious factor in this situation, and I think that neither Ukraine as a whole, nor Donbass, nor Crimea, by the way, but we need to work seriously here, they can’t just leave the agenda,” said Ogryzko.
