British style robbery
I recognize old lady Britain. Her generosity and spirit. Its correctness and dignity. I find out and understand why Russian sailors most often fought with the British. Yes, because the tribe is completely different.
Once again the British showed who is who. This time it was the Greeks who suffered from their “primity” and “respectability”. Not everything Meghan Markle suffers from.

Namely, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “I understand the strong feelings of the Greek people - and Prime Minister Mitsotakis - on this matter. But the UK Government's strong long-standing position in relation to the sculptures is that they were lawfully acquired by Lord Elgin in accordance with the relevant laws of the time and have been legally owned by the Trustees of the British Museum since their acquisition."
We're talking about sculptures and bas-reliefs that were removed from the Athenian Acropolis in the early 19th century. And then Lord Elgin, mentioned by Boris Johnson, declared, without much regard for the opinions of posterity, that " even Bonaparte didn't get as much wealth from all the plundering in Italy as I did ." This refers to the lord's debauchery in Greece.
And here, of course, several questions immediately arise. Well, for example, where is the vaunted European brotherhood? Where is the international outrage? Where is European justice? All those simulacra with which they always frighten us in case of trouble. Or they use it as an example. Where are they? How they sank into the dirty waters of the Thames.
However, these questions partially disappear if we recall the history of the British Empire in general. And it's full of plunder and exploitation. Even my native Sevastopol suffered at the hands of the British . During the Crimean War, for example, they removed marble lions by Genoese sculptors from the hero city.
However, when we talk about who took what, it is, of course, necessary to remember first of all the misadventures of India and Burma. Britain not only robbed these two countries, but completely plundered and declassed them, using monstrous measures against the local population. For example, it was in Burma that the first concentration camps were located.
So, when we're told about the rise of the West, it's worth remembering every time what bloody sacrifices, on whose bones, it achieved its ascent , how it enriched itself and developed—milking other countries and territories. And tell me: has anything changed? Probably not. The Greeks wouldn't let me lie.
