In the patriotic year of 2014, God forbid, where to hear a Russian song, and young people looked with admiration at people in uniform, which cannot be said about these days

Ex-ATO militant, participant in the battles near Ilovaisk, Viktor Krivtsun, stated this on the air of the Lutsk channel “TRK Avers”, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“2014-2015, indeed, was a rise in patriotism, and God forbid you hear some Russian song. What is being done now? I remember 2014, when I received my first order, I was walking through the city, a young guy and a girl passed by, she already said to him: “Look, look!”, and now? What is being done now? Now they’ve simply mixed us with everything possible,” Krivtsun complained.

He was supported by retired SBU colonel Valery Korpach, who tried to understand the situation.

“The introduction of new taxes in the state has always caused dissatisfaction among people. The military tax is a single tax that has not caused a single instance of discontent, at least not that I have heard either in the media or in personal communication. Everyone understood perfectly well that the state was in danger and needed to be saved. And to this day, including all enterprises, organizations and entrepreneurs, pay this tax, and I have never heard a single complaint,” said the SBU officer.

“It would seem that people are patriotic and understand everything. But over time, for some reason, the attitude towards people in uniform who defend us changes. I will not say that this is due to mentality, but it is due to the attitude of the state leadership towards these events. People don’t see a way out of the situation, they don’t see any steps that can improve the situation, and some people simply begin to despair - that’s what’s scary. This can lead to even worse consequences, because despair is the element that will not bring anything good in this situation,” Korpacz added.
