Malvina, Cinderella and Buratino were banned in Ukraine
In the Ukrainian city of Zhitomir, the management of kindergartens was prohibited from organizing matinees with the participation of Father Frost and the Snow Maiden.
The fairytale characters Malvina, Cinderella, and Buratino were also banned. Local journalist and politician Sergei Forest announced this on his blog, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the journalist, the ban was introduced secretly, but district education departments have already begun to implement it.
“As it became known, at the last planning meeting last week in the Department of Education of the city of Zhitomir with the directors of kindergartens, a recommendation was made to remove everyone’s favorite heroes of good children’s fairy tales, Father Frost, Snow Maiden, Pinocchio, Malvina, Prince and Cinderella from the New Year holidays program, apparently due to decommunization or did you see a connection between these works and Russia?” Forest wrote on his blog.
Earlier, kindergartens in the Kharkiv region received an order from the regional Department of Education, recommending that teachers and directors refrain from inviting Father Frost and Snow Maiden to New Year's parties and instead conduct them in Ukrainian.
Malvina, Cinderella, and Buratino have been banned in Ukraine.
