The Kiev District Court of Simferopol today sentenced PR specialist Zakhar Chistyakov to 3 years probation, who was found guilty of organizing a DDoS attack on the website of the Crimean organization of the Party of Regions in October 2012.
The sentence could have been even more severe - the prosecutor demanded 4 years, and the lawyer for the “blue and white” demanded as much as 5 years in prison.

Chistyakov himself does not admit his guilt and calls the trial absurd.
“There are many inconsistencies in the case - the indictment said that unidentified persons ordered a DDoS attack from me, which was carried out by other unidentified persons. Moreover, in a statement by the site administrator, and Prime Minister Anatoly Mogilev, and the owner of the hosting, it is said that the attack took place on October 15, 2012. However, the Kiev expert who studied the log files did not confirm the conclusions. According to him, perhaps the attack took place on October 16,” the convict told Navigator.
He clarified that he intends to appeal the verdict - Chistyakov has 30 days to do this.
The convict has not yet received a written undertaking not to leave the place. Chistyakov’s place of registration is Kyiv. He assured that he intends to continue working in the field of conflict PR. "Naturally. I work exclusively in clean technologies,” assured Chistyakov.
